My standards for school were set by my grandmother because she helped me understand at an early age education was the only way to be truly free. It taught me to work hard and never give up know matter what type of things might happen. My grandmother’s migration has given me a strong sense of self because I allow change to happen for me instead of waiting for someone else. Currently I am attending Howard University and it would have not been possible without the values that were instilled in me about education such as completing all my work and studying hard. I have no doubt in life I will be successful because of the values that were instilled in me at a young age.
